My girlfriend has been bugging me to get her a vegetable tanned backpack from TaoBao. For those who are not familiar with TaoBao, it is a shopping site much like your ASOS or Urban Outfitters.
Everybody knows how I hate to spend money, and it didn’t look too difficult to do. I decided to make the bag for her. Second time I’m making a bag for her. But this time, I wanted it to look so good, she can swing it in her friend’s face and say,“HMPH! MY BOYFRIEND MADE THIS! ADMIRE IT! ADMIREEEEE!”
And so, I began on the arduous journey to make a backpack for her in time, before she makes the hasty move to buy something off TaoBao.
And so, construction begins…..
Worked on a 3-4 oz. oily pull up black leather, with everything stitched by hand. Cause as we all know, saddle stitch doesn’t break apart when 1 thread comes loose. Definitely guarantees a long lasting product. And because I was too poor to afford a sewing machine.
So here’s the happy camper with her new bag.
I do not have a lot of photos, as I am not a professional photographer, and black can be a tough colour to try and snap images of.
